Titan ette The theme of this year ' s li+anette Review was 1965. The various groups presented dances symbolic of events that took place during the year 1965. The money received in profit from the Review was donated to- ward a scholarship given by the Girls ' League. There were two awards given, one for ticket-selling competition and one for sportsmanship. Prizes were won by the Chimney Sweeps and Las Senoritas, re- spectively. CRISPY CRIHERS Members are: Karen Lynch, GIna Castillo. Variety Is Keynote of Titan Assemblies At left: Cultural assemblies were introduced this year as a new type of entertainment tor the students. Seen here is Bill Burbon who brought his troupe of dancers to Pioneer for an enjoyable hour of Mexican folk songs and dances. Center left: During the Oriental assembly, two volunteers, Andy Solis and Reuben Fuentes attempted a few of the intricate steps demonstrated by the Oriental dancers. Bottom right: One highlight in our cultural assemblies this year was an ancient Aztec dance done by Florencio Yescas who performed with a magnificent headpiece made of feathers. Students from Los Nietos Jr. High were invited to attend this special assembly. Below: Bertram Shurtleff demonstrates one of the benefits of keeping fit at the Wrestling Revelations Assembly. Mr. Shurtleff asked two of the huskiest boys on campus, Ken Welbe and Ed Thomas, to stand on his mid section in an effort to em- phasize muscular control. Assisting are Gary Smith, left; Chris Thirtkettle, right. Mr. Shurtleff proudly proclaims his age at 68. Bottom left: During one of our pep assemblies. Titan songleaders, Becky Ruiz, Jan Stir- ling, and Susie Neet, perform an amusing skit In which they attempt to show what the well dressed football player wears.
