prove they had spirit. Although they did not win, they put up a good fight. DANCES Besides pep rallies and be- ing at a new school, Freshmen can enjoy the benefit of high school dances. Like the pep rallies, the dances are livelier than they are at the Junior High. For one thing, most of the lights are off and the music is loud, energetic, and cur- rent. There they can just about dance any way they please in a relaxed at- mosphere. In general, they can now stay out late which enables them to feel like they fit into the high school social life. PEP RALLIES A new experience for the Freshmen was the pep rallies. The pep rallies were different from the Junior High because of the entertainment. For example, the Color Guard, Majorettes, Chief- tainettes and or the Band per- formed weekly.
