I ' ve been around a while and this is only the second new school I ' ve been able to work in. You have a chance that not every student gets. Opening a new school is exciting, fun and sometimes frustrating. However, I think it is worth it. I am proud of all of you, and count it a joy to be associated with helping build a school with all its programs, activities and friendships. Let ' s work together to make each year a little better. 1 I At Puim Meia, MM cIwJ 1986-1987 school ' s theme this year, Startin ' It meant a new and exciting beginning, theme was very important to us he- cause we were the first students at Pinon Mesa Middle School. We had the opportuni- ty to start the traditions making this school be in the years to come. Betsy Gott Startin ' It Up really meant a lot to us. We are the students who will have paved the way for those that follow. We were the first sixth and seventh graders along with a new staff. Being the first gave us a sense of a new and better era. We were the first, but not the last. We hope that those who follow after us will have the same sense of hope and importance. Pam Pierce
