THE FUTURE Homemakers of America is composed of girls from grades 9-12 who have completed at least one year of home economics. Through inspiring programs, this organization strives to train young girls to be our future homemakers. In order to develope these newly-acquired skills these girls participate in the numerous service projects planned by the club officers and sponsors, Mrs. Watkins and Mrs. Wakefield. International and National Workers The only international club in the school is Interact. This organization is sponsored by the Rotary Club, and came into being last year. By aiding teachers the members of FTA prepare themselves and get a view of what is to come for them if they choose the teaching profession. These girls also give a little-cheer to the teachers by decorating the teachers lounge at different holidays. Phyliss Curry talks to the FTA members to encourage them to sell key chains, sachets, telephone and address books and etc., to help raise money for the oncoming convention. 64
