SUGGESTED AS MOST valuable electives arc band, chorus, and art. Being entertaining as well as constructive these courses provide extensive training for students at Pincvillc High School. Under the direction of Mr. Gary Coakcr, the Pineville High School band puts in many extra practice hours in order to perform for various school functions which include football games, pep rallies, and parades. Being experienced or unexperienced in the music field, the student can find a place in the school’s vocal department. Intermediate chorus is taught to introduce all phases of music theory. The advanced group, Rcbelaires, performs for various activities. Art classes are available to those students wishing to express their imagination in different ways. Jane Ingram models Gauchos in a Home Ec. style show. FEMALE STUDENTS WISHING to learn the basic fundamentals of housekeeping, sewing, and cooking are probably found in the home economics department. This course is offered each year in high school. Home Economics I and II stress and improve the basic principles of sewing and cooking. Challenging the student with more difficult techniques. Home Economics III is a continuation of Home Economics I and II. Home Economics IV teaches the student how to cope with family problems she may face in the future. Industrial Arts is designed to teach the basic skills of the wood-working trade by letting the student experiment with tools and materials. Gay Sontag is caught in a typical expression.
