Music — The Music Department of Pineville High School, under the direction of Mr. Joe C. Rivet, consists of the Dixie Kats, the Football Band, the Concert Band, the Majorettes, and the Chorus. The Dixie Kats are a newly organized group of musicians who are learning popular, Dixie-land, and dance music. Attractive uniforms of the Football and Concert Bands depict Confederate Officers of the past years in Dixie. At Football games, festivals, concerts, and other numerous community activities-the Rebel Band is always there to do its share. A Football Band would not be complete without Majorettes to lead it. The Majorettes perform with the band at most occasions. The unique drills, carried out by these girls, add much to any performance. The Chorus is the vocal division of the Music Department. Songs of all types are learned and prepared throughout the year, to present at the Spring Concert. A Year in Dixie wouldnot be complete without Music.
