REBELS 19 - NATCHITOCHES 18 The heavily favored Rebels had to really scrap to eke out a 19-18 victory over a fired-up Red Devil team from Natchitoches. J. W. Ferrler scored first early in the game after a Red Devil fumble as he made a fine, leaping catch of a Yates strike in the end zone. Buddy King split the uprights with the extra point that meant the game even though nobody knew it at the time. Jon scores the winning touchdown! Johnny Tuma and Billy Funderburk also scored for the Rebels after Jon Harris and J. W. Ferrier set each one up. Harris intercepted a pass to set up Tuma’s score, while Ferrier scooped up a Red Devil fumble and raced to the Natchitoches three from which Funderburk plunged across. Buddy Farrar blocked the Natchitoches final touchdown for the deciding play along with King’s lone conversion of the game.

REBELS 21 - WINNFIELD 0 Pinevllle Rebels scored the first time they got their hands on the ball to defeat a big Winnfield aggregation in the Homecoming Game. The Rebels used a strong ground game and an impressive passing attack to rack up 21 points in the first half and in the second half protected their lead with strong defensive play. When Johnny comes running home! Scoring for the Rebels were Johnny Tuma, Buddy Farrar, and Corky Yates. Buddy King rounded out the scoring with three conversions. Outstanding on defense were Dave Taylor, Dave McGraw, Frank Sanders, Buddy Megison, Buddy Farrar, and Corky Yates. Ripping off yards in the Rebel backfield were Billy Funderburk. Johnny Tuma, Corky Yates, Jon Harris, and Buddy King.

TOMMY ORR Back DAVID BUTLER Center DICK BUTLER Tackle Okay boys, break it up! REBELS 32 JONESBORO-HODGE 0 The Rebels proved that rain and mud were not going to stop their powerful machine. They really poured it on in the second half with every player getting into the act as they sloshed to a 32-0 victory in Jonesboro-Hod-ges Homecoming game. Corky Yates scored twice on a one yard sneak and a 60 yard punt return. Johnny Tuma, Dick Butler and Billy Funderburk scored the other touchdowns, with Yates and Funderburk adding the extra points. Frank Sanders and Jim Bailey led the great forward wall as they rushed quarterback Jimmy Golden of the Tigers.
