Noe The Teacher As a teenager in Cincinnati, Ohio, Mr. Noe was fon- dest of his English classes at Norwood High School. But later, when he enrolled at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, he majored in psychology and minored in social studies. He completed his Bachelor of Arts Degree at Arizona State University, and obtained his Master's Degree in counseling in the College of Education at Northern Arizona University. Mr. Noe came to Lakeside from Holbrook, Arizona, and began teaching here as an eighth grade instructor. In 1965-66 he served asacounselor. This year he has carried the double burden of administration and instruction. He intends to earn his Doctor of Philosophy Degree at the University of Arizona and thinks of one day becoming a college professor. 9? 5' I 4 M we I ff fm? Is 1967 Cresta Azul Dedicatee The Citizen Mr. Noe classifies himself asa man who is not a Joiner, But as principal, teacher, and community mem- ber, he has been or is a member of many educational and civic groups. In college, he belonged to Phi Delta Kappa, men's honorary education fraternity, and Psi Chi, national honorary psychology fraternity. He has been on the rolls of the Lion's Club, and is amernber of the Arizona Personnel and Guidance Association, the Arizona Association of Sec- ondary School Principals, and the Parent-Teacher Associ- ation. He has also aided in the establishment of a Pinetop- Lakeside community Youth Center this year. His activities in school and community life have prov- en him to be a responsible, conscientious citizen, worthy of regard and respect. The Husband Mr. Noe is married to our Home Economics instruc- tor, Mrs. Letty Noe, anative ofRussell, Minnesota, Whom he met at Arizona State University and married on January 22, 1954. They live close to the school in a pleasant, natu- ral log house, with their dog, Patty, a big beautiful collie. The interests of this tall, dark, craggy-faced man are quiet and generally meditative. He enjoys hiking and rais- ing collies. He readsagreat deal, often in the fields of phi- losophy and psychology, and is enthusiastic about good con- versation. This mentally dynamic man, who believes in involve- ment, despises above all else indifference, particularly among students, without any defensible reason. He hopes that his ideas and attitudes will never become stagnant or inflexible. He cherished a private desire to be a football and bas- ig 5555553 ketball player. Blue Ridge students could not contain their sincere grief 2515: when they learned on February 19, 1967, that they had lost mm. Teachers, students, and community members wept openly, mourning one of the happiest, most likeable, sportsmanlike in- 35353235 dividuals they had ever been privileged to know. In writing our farewell to Blue Ridge, the senior class of 1967, with reminiscence of the past four years CWHERE DID THEY GO'?D, feel a nostalgia which perhaps only comes at times like this. We know we must be willing to close the door and say ffgood- bye to our adolescent high school years and meet the challenge of the open door, to further accelerate our learning and take our place in industry and the American stream of life. To express our parting good Wishes for this class and the in- structors a.nd students We leave behind, may we wish for each: Health enough to make work a pleasure. Wealth enough to support our needs. Strength to battle with difficulties and overcome them. Patience enough to toil until some good is accomplished. Charity enough to see some good in our neighbors. Faith enough to make real the things of God. Hope enough to remove all anxious fear concerning the future. 1 Omar Khayyam 2 Johann von Goethe X uuf ' - ' J lb N 2 t I ' x Q .
