gg M GROWING PAINS ln a small university town in California lives the McIntyre family, Mr. and Mrs. George McIntyre, and their children, Terry and George. Terry is find- ing that there comes a time when girls mdst stop playing boys' games and become young ladies, much to her disgust. George discovers that girls are fascinating creatures, and goes through the throes of puppy love with all the fervor of a Don Iuan. Terry finds that being a young lady has some advantages, and decides to study the wiles of Prudence Darling, a young miss who arrives in the neigh- borhood and proceeds to cause all the boys' hearts to flutter. George finally succeeds in getting a second-hand car through barter, and life reaches a new high through a party given for him by his mother, because he consented to have his tonsils removed. Terrible things happen. George's white flannels disappear: he falls into the arms of the law: the party breaks up: and Prudence jilts him. Life indeed seems very black, but George finds that there are other fish in the sea. To Terry comes the revelation that, although boys may like to flirt with the cud- dly kind, they prefer a girl who can be a pal, for a steady diet. This humorous and excellently cast play was presented November 13 and 14, 1947, by members of this year's graduating class. The entire production was under the direction of Miss Helen M. Campbell.
