JUNIOR HI-Y The Iunior Hi-Y of Pine Grove High was organized under the direction of Mr. Miller. Its purpose was to create good understanding and character among the younger boys. The organization's aim is to secure clean speech, clean scholarship, clean sports, and clean habits. The boys initiated the new members into the club, and one of the main events of the season was their doggie roast. The oH'icers of the club were also invited to the Father and Son Banquet given by their older brothers, the Senior Hi-Y. The ofHcers are: President ,....... ......... They initiated many new members, sponsored several skating parties, and they also sponsored a contest, whose entries included speeches, poems, humor rhymes, and posters, and in which prizes amounting to six dollars were awarded to each grade separately. This club's purpose this year was: 1. To honestly try to live up to the purpose of the Iunior Tri-Hi-Y: To create, maintain, and extend throughout the school and community high standards of Christian character. I 2. To be more faithful and loyal to the church. 3. To try to be at our best in our homes, with our parents, our brothers and sisters. 4. To study and do our work in school. To appreciate more the great oppor- tunities the school presents us. 5. In our relationships with others to be more friendly, kind, and consider- ate. .-42,-1

The girls have participated in programs in the school and in the community. As in former years, the main event for the Glee Club was the Spring Festival on April 16.
