SENIOR HI-Y The I-li-Y Club was first organized in 1927 by Mr. Eichler to give the young men of our school a greater understanding of Y. M. C. A. work. The club's purpose is to create, maintain, and extend throughout the school and commu- nity high standards of Christian character. The club is based on clean speech, clean sports, clean scholarship, and clean habits. To become a member of this club the boys must promise to uphold these standards. SENIOR TRI-HI-Y To build a better world Ready I must be In the place where life doth find meg Holding fast, yet pushing on Into glorious adventure- You and I and Cvod. This is the Tri-Hi-Y code which the girls follow, Club membership is open to any senior high school girl who is willing to uphold the ideals of the organ- ization, which are high standards of Christian character in the school and community. Activities of the year included initiation of new members, installation of oflicers, a barn dance, and the giving of gifts to crippled children. This year the club participated in Teen Topics, a Bible Study Contest. Some of the guest speakers included Rev, Iohn Youse, Mr. Werley, Rev. Walter Deibler, and Nlr. Keiser. They initiated many new members, sponsored several skating parties, and they also sponsored a contest, whose entries included speeches, poems, humor rhymes, and posters, and in which prizes amounting to six dollars were awarded to each grade separately. This club's purpose this year was: 1. To honestly try to live up to the purpose of the Iunior Tri-Hi-Y: To create, maintain, and extend throughout the school and community high standards of Christian character. I 2. To be more faithful and loyal to the church. 3. To try to be at our best in our homes, with our parents, our brothers and sisters. 4. To study and do our work in school. To appreciate more the great oppor- tunities the school presents us. 5. In our relationships with others to be more friendly, kind, and consider- ate. .-42,-1
