Band The first Instrumental Music Festival of the ELCHSA was held at Burns, Wyom- ing, April 20. The numbers were judged by Clyde Ross of Cheyenne. The numbers were rated as superior, excellent, average, or poor. The instrumental numbers entered were: Pauline Rudolph, a Violin Solo, rated superior. Wilbur Bunch, a Trumpet Solo, rated excellent. Dollie Golden and Wilbur Bunch, a Trumpet Duet, rated excellent. Charlene Karlstrum, Peg Stevens, Mary Lynne Mercer, and Robert Rudolph, a Clar- inet Quartet, rated excellent. The Band was also rated excellent. -22-

Orchesfra This is the third year that the high school has enjoyed having an orchestra. Re- hearsals were held regularly twice a week during the fall months. When it became evi- dent there would be a Music Festival rating the bands and not orchestra, the orchestra suspended practice for a time. Practically all of the orchestra members also played in the band. T23-.
