homecoming
Beautiful queens, competitive
floats, and a major football upset con-
tributed to the success of Homecom-
ing '73. It was also a year of change,
the Homecoming queen being chosen
from a field of three Seniors, with a
Junior and Sophomore attendant.
There were many tense moments
this year, a few of which included the
crowning of Jackie Barkau as the 1973
Homecoming Queen, Another exciting
moment was the announcement that
the mighty Class of '74 retained the
float championship for the second
year with "Give 'Em Hail." This, the
Pirates surely did, defeating Fowler-
ville 39-20. That victory snapped Fow-
lerville's 32 game winning streak.
The days events were capped with
the Homecoming dance featuring
"Rumor,"
