SENIOR HISTORY In 1944 very proudly but scared th1rty three freshmenwalk ed 1nto the doors of P H S We knew not what was ahead of us but we soon found an 1n1t1at1on awa1t1ng us It conslsted of long underwear bathlng su1ts and m1lk buckets But the year became more pleasantas memorable part1es at Red Knolls and Hot Sprmgs began to come upon the scene Della Larson headed the class as pres1dent and Mr Done and M155 Caldwell were sponsors In our Sophomore year under the d1rect1on of Mr Bryant we came better acqua1nted w1th the ways of Plma H1gh Durmg the year we had two gym part1es and a p1cn1c Many members of the class part1c1pated 1n sports and appeared 1n School plays Betty Haggard headed the class the f1rst semester and Ienn1e Han cock took over for the second St1ll push1ng upward the class came to 1ts .Tun1or year Every one was qu1te eXC1t6d because we had a large task ahead of us The ma1n event was the Prom w1th the effectwe theme of In The Garden Of Tomorrow Instead of g1v1ng the Sen1ors the usual banquet we took them to Carlsbad Caverns We presented the successful play The B1g Blow Up and had two part1es We al so put out the school paper It was the bus1est year and the most fun yet Mr Goodman was sponsor and Coran Cluff pres1dent Sadly yet tnumphantly twenty seven members marched to the beg1nn1ng of the1r last year The trad1t1onal D1tch Day was one of the mam events of the year We spent the day 1n the mount a1ns rompmg 1n the snow and stufflng on del1c1ous food We held several part1es publ1shed the annual and took actlve part and leadersh1p mn all school events Near the last of the year great plans were made for that most 1mportant event, graduat1on The Sen1ors lookmg back on the1r good old days of P H S now rece1ve our d1ploma w1th m1xed feel1ngs of regret and Joy and say good bye to our classmates and Alma Mater. 1 s a ' ' . . . , v a - . . , . . , . . . s ' ' . . . .
