UTH JESSUP BETTY HIATT NANCY PATTO JULIA SIMMONS HELEN HIATT GAIL DENNY SURRY COUNTY CHAMPIONS lasketball Pilot Mountain for the past three years has turned out some of the best girls teams in the history of its school. The team this year is defending conference and tournament cham¬ pionships of Surry County. The scoring has been evenly divided between Julia Simmons, Nancy Patton, and Ruth Brinkley, who are very good prospects for Northwest All-Star Team. Because of excellent guarding by Gail Denny, Helen Hiatt, Shelby Simmons, and Ruth Jessup, the high scoring girls of other teams have been held very low, enabling our team to win every game in the county again this year. The student body would like to congratulate rhese girls and hope that in the future other teams can follow in their footprints. P.M.H.S. OPP. P.M.H.S. OPP. The boys ' team has been centered around two returning lettermen, Douglas Inman and Robert Chilton. Bobby Key, Glenn Key and Stephen Gwaltney have made up the rest of our surprising team this year. We feel that these boys are definitely filling the footprints of our former teams. P.M.H.S. OPP. P.M.H.S. OPP.
