ANNUAL PUBLICATION OF PILOT MOUNTAIN HIGH SCHOOL PILOT MOUNTAIN, NORTH CAROLINA Volume 6 As we face the unpredictable future, we are aware of the obstacles and pitfalls that await the approach of our unwary steps. In order to face these dif¬ ficulties and cope with them we realize the value of calling upon the strengthening experiences of our past to give us courage, fortitude, and wisdom. Since our fate and destiny lie so close before us, it is the hope of the staff that we may be able to present in this volume a panorama of events which, when summoned to memory, will serve as a firm foundation for our ensuing efforts. We, the staff of the 1952 KNOB WHISPERS , wish to present in black and white some of our experiences at Pilot Mountain High School in the hopes of always retaining the true Pilot Mountain spirit, as faithful, brave, and patriotic citizens of America.

DEDICATION For nine consecutive years Grady R. Motsinger has been witli us—welcoming, encouraging, advising. We will not soon forget his friendly greeting with our name as we passed on the walk, the intimate chats that never failed to end on a construc¬ tive note. Then there were the dreams, the hopes, the plans. We watched them grow from visions to blueprints of a new high school building. With profound admiration for his resourcefulness, his sense of fair play, and his deep human understanding, the Senior Class of Pilot Mountain High School dedicates the 195‘2 edition of Knob Whispers to Mr. Motsinger.
