L ' w Ray Von Hole THE KNOB EDITOR ASSISTANT EDITOR Glenna Fulk Bertie Mae Eldridge PILOT MOUNTAIN HIGH SCHOOL Pilot Mountain, North Carolina FOREWORD 4 ‘The time has come , the students said, 4 ‘to talk of many things- Of books, quizzes, and examinations; of graduation and Senior rings; Of basketball and pep rallies, parties and friends, Of classes, junior-senior, and a farewell picnic at the inn. So we, the Staff, rolled up our sleeves, and then began to write Of this and that; to check class rolls, read copy half the night. We made group photos, portraits, snapshots of students here and there And worried o’er financial woes until we tore our hair- Gallons of our own sweat and tears we shed, dear students, all for thin To give you this, your own yearbook - 4 ‘The Knob Whispers of ’49. DEDICATES TO MISS WILLIE LOU McGEE this volume of ‘The Knob Whispers” - a dedication to one whose patient, willing, and under standing guidance will never be forgotten by those who have had the privilege of knowing her. May this memorial, though comparatively insignificant to her many achievements, be an everlasting token of our gratitude.
