Miss Record., we want you to know that we appreciate the importance of your service. We are especially grateful for your patience in adjusting individual schedules, in answer- ing innumerable questions., and in making transcripts for us. You hold the only official record of our college life and we hold you in esteem as our recording angel. IN MEMORIAM It is with a deep sense of loss that the stu- dents of Pikeville College concur with the Board of Trustees in their resolution on recording the death of Mr. Thomas H. Harman and Mr. John Scott Miller, which occurred this past summer. Mr. Harman was the oldest Board member in point of service. His association with the Col- lege had been one of great intimacy and extreme interest. No phase of the college work was ever too insignificant to command his attention, and no moment was ever too large to challenge his enthusiastic support. Few families have had a more intimate association with the College than that of Mr. Harman ' s. Mr. Miller had been a member of the Board for many years and had always looked upon his trusteeship as a serious and challenging re- sponsibility. Every phase of the College work had his deep interest but he was especially in- terested in the program as contributing to the spiritual growth and development of the stu- dents. Let us remember, however, that success is measured by the positive and constructive things we do. rather than by those things which apparently bring fame — verv little is said about Thomas in the Bible, but we do not forget that it was by his efforts that the great apostle Peter was brought to Christ. If, ten years from now, each member of the graduating class can look back on life and trulv sav that he has given honest ef- fort to each task undertaken, this will be a trulv successful and ereat class.
