Mary Kalfsbeek was crowned the 1982 Homecom- ing Queen by her uncle, Jim Kalfsbeek. 3. The Pierce High School played the Star Spangled Banner between the J.V. and Varsity games. 4. Carlos Diaz carries the ball toward a Bear touchdown. 5. Here come the mighty Bears ripping through that run-through, with the cheerleaders cheering them to victory. 6. The Bears make a stupendous tackle to prove the toughness of their defense. 7. Rickey White runs for the touchdown. 8. The Trojans try to stop John Roy Abele, but proved to be unsec- cessful. ' Homecomin 7982 Ah- spectators crunching butterey popcorn, little boys playing their own game in the end zone, bright flags are flapping in the breeze, the announcer takes his place and the whistle blows. Everyone stands up for the kick off! Yes, it ' s Homecoming once again and the Pierce Bears clobber the Durham Trojans in a glorious victory. The ceremonies between games were especially differ- ent this year. The Queens and captains from five years ago attended the 1982 Homecoming, along with this 24 Homecoming Sponsored by Lawrence E year ' s crowning of the Queen, and the court with their escorts. The ever faithful band added spirit to the night ' s activities. Those who walked out on the field between games were N. Simpson, S. Espinal, S. Hernandez, C. West, R. Gallo. R. Godinez, B.
