Pierce Bears The 1977 football season came to a close on a rainy Friday, the fourth of November, in Williams. This victory brought pride once again to the Bears who had been shut out by the Yellow Jackets in 1975 and 1976. The season showed the Bears winning four games and losing five. The success of this years team cannot be measured in victories but can be measured in attitude. Our season started with thirty-three players out for the team and finished with thirty. This statistic definitely shows that the 1977 Bears were not quitters, and on the whole the year was a good one.
