FIQUSH SUI? WAIHQIDOIO The 1974 Piedmont Hills High School FroshfSoph Water Polo Team turned in a excellent season by taking the M.H.A.L. Title with a record of l 1-0. Pride in themselves and the deteremination to win were the secrets to their successful season according to Co-Coaches Dave Wenz and Steve Schneider. This year's team was paced by leading scorer joe Lane, and Dave Valerde in the cage. Joe consistently was a team leader in every game while Dave was the best goalie in the FroshfSoph Division of the M.H.A.L. with a seasonal average of 5253 goalie saves. The 1974-75 edition ofthe Piedmont Hills Varsity Basketball team was a predominently junior squad who were strong contenders for the M HAL- North Division title. Early season highlights for the Pirates included third place finishes in both the James Lick and Camden Tournaments. Star Forward Keith Taylor was named All-Tourney in both the tournaments while teammate Jeff Rhodes received All-Tourney recognition in the Lick Tournament. T Standouts on this years Pirate squad, in addition to Taylor and Rhodes, were Juniors Curtis Buckner and Jeff Bassett. Coach Norm Friborg
