TT FOREWORD With a longing eye into the past, and an eager look toward the future, we come to the end of another year. For some, it is their last and their long awaited graduation. For others, it is just the end of another year. Both have one thing in common, memories of their days in college. The staff of the Yonahian has tried to include many of the events of the past year in the pages to come. We hope that as you look through this book, now and in the years to come, that it will hold fond thoughts of your time in college. The 1964 Yonahian is the start of something we hope will be :ontinued by future staffs. The staff has attempted to also record :he progress of the school, so that when one looks back, he may see ;vhat has been done to improve the school. We at Piedmont are n the middle of a change — a dream come true. First, the new rlassroom — administration building, then promised plans that would nake anyone excited. There are many things a yearbook should record — the activities, ;ports, functions, but most of all, the memories. Those things which, ong after we have left school, can be looked back upon with fond- less and appreciation. The 1964 Yonahian staff hopes they have accomplished this goal.

DEDICATION Because your gaiety, warmth, and friendliness, like a tree in colorful autumn array, make our hearts glad; Because your gentleness, like the lacy quality of snow-covered branches in winter, is a consolation to us; Because your spirit, like the fresh-budding leaves and blossoms of spring, gives hope to all who know you; and, Because your character, respected and admired as a gigantic moss-draped oak in summer, makes us want to be like you — To you.
