• ffl JERRY ALDERMAN, a senior from Boston, Ga., transferred to Piedmont from Abraham Baldwin College in 1958. He is a biology major and a member of both the varsity basketball and baseball teams. He is married and has three children and has worked as a radio announcer at WCON in Cornelia. He is president of the Future Teachers of Amer- ica and has consistently been placed on the Dean ' s List since attending Piedmont. 12

NANCY NORTON, whose home is High- lands, North Carolina, came to Piedmont in 1958 a graduate of Brevard Junior Col- lege. During her two years spent on our campus, she has been: Treasurer of the Junior Class, an active member of the Student Christian Association, the Gamma Chi Literary Society, and the Leslie Jones Chapter of the Future Teachers of America. Nancy, whose major is elementary edu- cation, is now teaching in the Gainesville Junior-High School in Gainesville, Georgia. ASHTON GODLEY, from Charlottesville, Virginia, is Vice-President of the Student Association. A transfer student from the University of Virginia, he has been an honor student majoring in mathematics. Ashton is also President of the Senior Class and a varsity basketball player. One of the highest honors given to any student at Piedmont College is that of being chosen as a nominee to WHO ' S WHO AMONG STUDENTS IN AMERICAN COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES. A student faculty committee submitted the list of prospective nominees to the academic council for final selection. The committee considered the student ' s scholarship, their leadership and cooperation in educational and extracurricular activities, their general citizenship, and their promise of future usefulness. Then the approved list was sent to WHO ' S WHO AMONG STUDENTS IN AMER- ICAN COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES for final decision. Each of these students became a member of the year 1959-60. They received a certificate of recognition presented in chapel by Dean Cave, also recognition in annual publication in the form of a write-up of Piedmont and his personal records, and a listing in the Index of Colleges; benefits of the Student Placement Service provided by the organization if he needs assistance in making employment con- tacts or supplying other recommendations. Our congratulations to these four students who have proved themselves to be outstanding in many phases of campus life— the four have been chosen as members of WHO ' S WHO AMONG STUDENTS IN AMERICAN COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES. 13
