R.0.lZ . The ROTC or Reserve Officer Train ing Corps has been organized to teach the boys the ways of Army life on a small basis They are taught discipline how to take orders and how to give them The boys learn to read maps assemble guns fire guns march and they learn Army tactics The reason for this organization is to acquaint the boys with Army ways so that they wont be lost when they go into service They will have a general Idea of what it is all about Some ot the func tions of the ROTC are The clothing drive the Military Ball and they sponsor the Rifle Team and the ROTC Club sms THE RIFLE TEAM is pictured lBottom leftl with some of the equipment that is used during their matches They participate in city inter clty and inter state matches They have brought honor to Tech a num ber of times this year The purpose of the Rifle Team is to give the boys that are interested rifles chance to learn about them It also develops sports manship competitive spirit and accuracy with a rifle THE ROTC CLUB members are students of RO TC with the rank of sergeant first class or above bility in their actlvitxes ll3elowJ Thomas Nettles Jim Arthur Norvell Pnerr Ronald Veltmier Larry Val entine William Johnson Leland Land Jim Lee Gran ville Nettles Roger Newman Willie Thude Raymond Fugarm Duane Robinson and Lester Hair M: , . , , , , , , - - - - - liz., I I A , . ,L L K ,ik 4 I Q.
