The Hi Y is composed of a group of progressive upper classmen joined together to provide good clean recreation and to further Christian ideals and morals. Mr Berger sponsored this organization which was formed this year. CAMERA CLUB A group of students, under the direction of Mr. Lemley and Mr. Thomas, formed the Camera Club during the year. Their purpose is to create better photography among the shutter bugs here at Tech. With so many candid camera fiends at large, the unwary subiect should beware. Club, which is in its third year at Tech, consists of officers, non-coms, and seniors. The Military Ball, which the club sponsors, is one of the most colorful and out- standing affairs of the year. ln addition to regular meetings, the Battalion Picnic held at the end of the year for all members of R.O.T.C. is sponsored by the club. ART CLUB nl il 34.14 The main purpose of the Art Club is to further the appreciation of Commercial Art Q u his among its members. This aim, directed through the efforts of an executive committee, prompt- ed the series of lectures presented by leading business people in advertising and related fields. The regional showing of the National Schol- astic Art Awards co-sponsored by the Valley National Bank and Phoenix College provided an opportunity for the Art Club to win I4 awards. The G.A.A. started the year off with a bang with a party at the school farm. followed by a Volleyball Sports Day against Mesa and West High. All girls earned 50 points are initiated into the G.A.A. The new members are waiting for when they'll be on the other end of the line. The G.A.A. promotes good sportsmanship among the girls. Miss McCauley is sor of this group.
