Council '15 C. Leading the Student Body this year is the Student Council. Officers of 1966 are, Steve Hovda, vice- presidentg Tim Smith, presidentg and Sherry Compson, secretary-treasurer. This year Student Council sponsored homecoming activities. For a break of tradition, the homecoming king and queen were crowned in a ceremony after the game with Dysart, October 22, 1965. Students, alumni, and other interested people were invited. Before the crowning the Student Council performed a skit announcing the donkey basketball game in December. Queen Marcia Stewart and Senior attendant, Sandy Barsness, requested a favorite song, When I Fall In Love , played by The Morekerke's. Tim Smith presided over the eeremoniesg the Juniors served refreshments. In December the donkeys came to P, C. H. S. The varsity football team challenged the Alumni to a battle of basketball astride donkeys. As the game ended the score was 18-18, forcing a sudden death play- off so one of the two teams could win. The varsity won 20-18. A donkey cup was presented to P.C. S. by the Reynolds CompanyQ who furnished the donkeys. Donkey Basketball fabovep, an unusual sport, was sponsored by the Student Council. Composed of the four class presidents, and a boy and a girl representative from each class, the Student Coun- cil is the student government of P. C. H. S. Conducting the meetings is the student body president who is elected by a majority vote from the entire student body each spring. Also assisting the president is the vice-president and the secretary-treasurer who are elected at the same time. These fifteen people are under the direction of faculty sponsor, Mr. Loye Crenshaw, Under his guidance they sponsored the raising of money for DUX, the . cougar. They also sponsored homecoming activities, donkey p basketball, and the Sweetheart Banquet. The council passed fund- raising projects for clubs and classes so they too could earn money. rf..
