Letter to the Students Dear Students: Greetings to you. The mission of Phoenix Christian High School is unique in that the leaders of tomorrow can gain experience, training, and spiritual direction in an accredited school that honors God. Education without God and His Son, Jesus Christ, js potentially dangerous. The student that learns early in life to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. . will be successful wherever he goes. This was a good year, and it was gratifying to see the excellent spiritual and academic progress ofthe majority of the students. Graduating seniors, may you remember the lessons learned on this campus and continually seek to fulfill God 's purpose in your life. To hear ofyour spiritual, academic, and professional progress in the years to come will be reward enough to us who have had a part in your training and development. Our prayer is for God 's best for you. Cordially in Christ, Aubrey C. Byrd

Faculty One of the purposes ior founding Christian High was to give the students daily instruction in God's Word. This year it is the privilege ofthe Seniors and Freshmen to have MR, GENE HOVDA as their Bible teacher. Mr. Hovda received his Masters degree at Bemidji State Teachers' College and has been teaching at P. C. H, S. for six years. Besides teaching Bible, he sponsors T. F. Y. and co- , sponsors Missionary Club with Mr. Buckner. Music is a vital part of Christian High, and this year we are fortunate to have MR, GERALD BOLT in the Music Department. A graduate of P. C. H. S. and Greenville College, Mr. Bolt teaches Band, A Cap- pella, Choraliers, and Gen- eral Music. lt is his re- Mr. Hovda sponisbility to plan and conduct vespers services and the operetta. One of the teachers P. C. H. S. Seniors seem to spend the most time with is MR, WILLIAM BROMLEY. Mr. Bromley teaches Senior English and Economics. Since Mr. Bromley gets to know the Seniors so well in these classes, he was also appointed Senior Class Sponsor. He teaches Sophomore Bible as an escape from the Seniors. Someone has to keep the Juniors on their toes, and this year it is MR, MI- Bok VICTOR KELLY, Mr. Kelly teaches Junior English, speech, and journalism. One of the busier men on campus, Mr. Kelly advises both the Beacon and Cougar Hi-Lites . Mr. Bromley This page sponsored by MT- KPHY Mr. and Mrs. Don E. Stevenson lO
