PLQTL ty This year, the Saginaw Citizens' First National Bank will award its First Citizen's Plaque to Grandma Maude Baker. There will be a fine testimonial dinner at which Hubert Win- throp, the bank's president, will pay tribute to a' woman who started to paint pictures on her sixtieth birthday, a woman who sells almost everything she paints and then turns every cent over to charity . . . However, what Hubert Winthrop will not know is that this sweet old lady's dedication to artistic perfection has also produced the best ten dollar bills ever printed outside the U.S. Mint. Indeed, this will be a secret shared only by Grandma and her cronies, who see nothin'g at all wrong with their little hob- by, and Grandma's frantic grandson, Arnold, who discovers Of course, you know the G in my name stands for Genius. Why what do you mean? 1 ' ' 1 Y I WJ HL ' Y 1. of Money suddenly that as vice-president of the bank he has been an unwitting accomplice in the exchange of new money for old. To complicate matters, just as the Federal Bureau of Investigation decides that Saginaw City is the operating base of a new counterfeiting ring, the same conclusion is being reached by the leaders of a national crime syndicate which, of course, does not look kindly upon such non-member success. As representatives of both organizations appear in town to locate the culprits and to stop their activities, the comic elements of the play reach hysterical proportions. Of utmost importance are the Christian testimonies which both Betsy and Becky maintain daily on campus. REBECCA WILLIAM S Salutatoricm Becky Williams transferred to Christian High from Bemidji High School in Bemidji, Minnesota at the beginning of her Junior year Her many activities include Yearbook Staff, Future Homemakers of America, Pep Club, and National Honor Society. She was also the student director of the Junior-Senior play during her Junior year, and she has received the International Optimist Award. B0 95 State Joe Burton is the Junior Representative to Student Council. Also he is very active in football, basketball, and baseball, Dan Crenshaw came to P. C. l-l. S. this year from Coulter Academy in Los Angeles, He is active in Band and National Honor Society, DANIEL CRENSHAW and JOE BURTON Arizona Boy's State and Arizona Girl's State is a citizenship training pro- gram sponsored by the American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary. The students experience the actual operating of a democratic government by living, for this time, in a mythical state, electing officers, and setting up a Legisla- ture and City Council. For a week in June they learn to act as self-governing people and how to take responsibilities as citizens. Representatives are selected on the basis of leadership, character, and service. SHELLY PENSINGER Girl 95 State Shelly Pensinger has attended P.C. H. S. all three years. She is president of G. A. A. This year she is the Junior Class representa- tive to the Student Council. She is also active in Missionary Club. Last year she was treasurer of Latin Club, Sponsored by: EMIL TOOL AND EQUIPMENT 3301 E, Washington, Vos, Andriga '1 3 A This page is in memory of William Pearce McChessney an alumnus of Phoenix Christian High School, who at the age of 29, died on December 15, 1965, in the Belgian Congo, serving his Lord. With ham and eggs upon the plate: A well-broiled steak I'll eat at One. And dine again when day is done. I want an ultra modern home, And in each room a telephone: Soft carpets, too, upon the floors, And pretty drapes to grace the doors. A cozy place of lovely things, Like easy chairs with innersprings, And then I'1l get a small TV-- Of course, I'm careful what I see. I want my wardrobe, too, to be Of neatest, finest quality, With latest style in suit and vest, Why shouldn't Christians have the best? But then the Master I can hear, In no uncertain voice, so clear, I bid you come and follow me, The bowly Man of Galilee. Birds of the air have made their nest, And foxes in their holes find restg But I can offer you no bed: No place have I to lay my head, In shame I hung my head and cried. How could I spurn the Crucified? Could I forget the way He went, The sleepless nights in prayer He spent? For forty days without a bite, Alone He fasted day and night: Despised, rejected--on He went, And did not stop till veil He rent. A Man of sorrows and of grief, No earthly friend to bring relief-- Smitten of God, the prophet said-- Mocked, beaten, bruised, His blood ran red If He be God and died for me, No sacrifice too great can be For me, a mortal man, to makeg I'll do it all for Jesus' sake. Yes, Iwill tread the path He trod, No other way will please my Godg So, henceforth, this my choice shall be, My choice for all eternity. -- Bill McChesney f L q W as 55 gh? ri? if-ef V 1: - 'fm 1 , Ryman! ..
