.V T? Mr. John Emery Assistant Principal Mr. Emery, I don't know how to tell you this, but, the entire student body failed their eye tests. Assistant Principal Mr. John Emery has been a member ofthe Phil- lipsburg High School faculty since 1967, when he was employed here as an English teacher. He was graduated from Villanova University in 1965 and re- ceived his Master's Degree in Education from Rutgers in 1974. His duties as Assistant Principal ofP.H.S. are varied and numerous. Not only is Mr. Emery con- cerned with planning student activities and establish- ing the policy for student discipline, but he is also in charge ofarranging for substitute teachers, researching the curriculum and maintaining order in supervisory areas. Besides his obligations as our Vice-Principal and chief law enforcer, Mr. Emery has still found time to coach the baseball team for the past two years. We hope he has a long and happy career at Phillipsburg High School. 21

Assistant Principal Mr. David Clauss has been connected with Phil- lipsburg High School since 1962. He was a Guidance Director before becoming an Assistant Principal. He graduated from Lafayette College with a B.S. Degree in Business Administration. He received his Masteris Degree in Education from Lehigh University. His duties at P.H.S. involve curriculum coordination, course development and student scheduling. The people in special services aid the school in various ways. The career education coordinator andjob placement coordinator help the student by providing work experience before graduation. The school nurse provide medical aid for the student and teachers, while the teachers' aids regulate the activity in the commons areas. Other areas ofspecial services include guidance, library assistance, and attendance. The assistance of the people in special services can never be overlooked in the efficient running of our school.
