Never in the annals of history will one find an assembly of such outstanding military men as comprise this crew. The spirit with which every job was sparkedg the devotion to duty displayed by' every man-jack in the crewg the courage, loyalty, enthusiasm, and willingness so evident at 'all times, are indicative of the high standards established and maintained. The hard pushes and telling blows delivered against the Communist forces in Korea by the PHILIPPINE SEA 'and AIR GROUP NINE will long be remembered as a splendid example of fighting teamwork under difficult conditions. This outstanding perform- ance during a critical period in our history materially aided the cause of freedom and is in keeping with the highest traditions of the Navy.
