The division is comprised of two work centers: The D.C. Shop and the H.T. Shop. Those of us in the D.C. Shop are responsible for maintaining the ship's fire-fighting readiness as well as ensuring that all of the ship's portable fire-fighting equipment is kept operational. While those of us who are in the H.T. Shop are responsible for all of the welding, brazing l-ITCISWJ Edmund Kemp MR1 Gregory Almeroth I DCHSVVJ Willie Thomas DC2 William Carls 'Q TF: and machining required onboard the ship. We also maintain all of the ship's permanently installed fire-fighting sys- tems. Repair Division as a whole is responsible for maintaining the ship's Sewage System, and operational readiness of the ship's Chemical, Biological, and Radiological Defense Systems. By far, our most impor- tant job is ensuring that all personnel assigned to the PHILIPPINE SEA are trained in Basic Damage Control along with all phases of shipboard fire-fighting.
