This merger means many advantages, such as expanded curriculum and improved facilities for students and teachers. It also means the loss of the friendly intimacy of a small school. This is progress and we cannot deny its coming. ln the past, Phelps and Clifton High Schools have been keen rivals. However, when the new school is built and students from both schools join to form one stu- dent body, a new feeling of close co-operation and friendship must evolve. This is the challenge to which the students must rise. We look forward to when the planned merging of the two schools becomes a reality. We accept the challenge of progress and eagerly await the new advantages. Yt we cannot forget all that Phelps High School has done for us, and we will e 7 D always keep fond memories of our years there. ln the words of our alma mater: HTO Phelps High School alma mater sing a glad refrain. When the echo dies away, sing it o'er againf'
