'ir if' qfdfdiy ln September of '54, sixty-eight members of the present senior class started its long awaited journey toward graduation. Qur freshmen otticers were Joel Caves, presidentg Joseph Rishel, vice-presidentg Ruth Frederick, secretary, and Maurice Bailey, treasurer. Qur .class advisors were lVliss Carol Green, lVlr. Vvarren Holmes, and lVlr. John Sweeney. . initial ettorts to tinance our senior trip wereitwo record dances held in our fresh- man year. Qn January 14th the class- presented :Swank Night and HThe Sewing Circle lvleetsn as an assembly program. ln February a bake sale was held. The last of our freshmen events was our :Balloon Ball!! dance held in April. p Our sophomore yvearibegaun, and-there were titty-ltive members in the class. We still retained the same advisors. Our new class otlticers were James Hostetler, presi- dentg Joel Caves, vice-presidentg Linda Salisbury, secretaryg and Maurice Bailey, treasurer. 4 ' Q I' The class started thelyear by holding a 'Sadie Hawkins Day Danceu on No- vember l0th. DuringfFebruary polo shirts with the Phelps emblem were sold. - On April'20th an HArthur Godfreys Talent Scouts, assembly program was presented. Qur junior year started with forty-six members and the following officers were elected, Joseph Rishel, presidentg Richard Harris, vice-president: Ruth Frederick, secretarygjlYlaurice.Bailey, treasurer. During the year Richard Harris moved, and Robert Pulverwas elected vicelpresident. . Uur first business of the year was to select our junior class rings. These were delivered in February. During the month df November basketball pencils were sold. During the same month we also held a bake sale. On the night of April sth a magician show was sponsored by the class. In May the class held its first formal prom URoyal Gardenf, This ended the activitiesiof our junior year. ' 1 Finally we reach our senior year. Thelollowing officers were elected- Joel Caves, presidentg Joseph Rishel, vice-presidentg Bernetta Raczenski, secretaryg and Maurice Bailey, treasurer. As a boost to our treasury we began our magazine drive. During the year we sold refreshments at the basketball games. Roller skating parties were also held and these provided fun for young and old alike. A record dance was held in Qctober for the purpose of increasing our treasury. ln November the class presented a three-act comedy, NDown To Earthf, On December Qofh the annual senior dance was presented, the theme of which was Mlqoyland Ballf' This event provided seasonal gaiety to all who attended. Un April Qlst forty seniorsleft for our long awaited trip to New York City. It was an experience we shall remember a long time. Now that our four years are completed. we realize how much our school days at PCS. have meant to us. and we also realize how much we owe to our ad- visors who have guided us so wisely. . 19
