SENIOR PROPHECY Today, June 18, 1967, a very strange thing hoppened. l have been living for the past seven years in Juneau, Alaska, where my husband works. I was startled and pleased to tind a recent copy of the hphelps Echon in our mailbox this morn- ing. Between keeping up with our two little girls and local activities, I hadnit had much time to think ot good old P.C.S. days. it opened the paper, which had grown considerably larger, wondering if any of my old classmates were mentioned. I was pleasantly surprised. By habit, I turned lirst to the local news section. The tirst thing I saw was a picture of Mrs. William Donk tBetty Denisoni, lVlrs. Robert Burns tBeth Falkeyi, and ylrs. Donald Jelltery tAnita Butleri representing the Phelps Chapter of the .Present Homemakers of Americaf, l later found out that Bill Donk, Robert Burns, and Don Jeffery together run the biggest gas station in Qntario County. On the same page I noticed an article on Don Vvinklemann, discussing his remarkable business success and his recent retirement. iwas surprised to read that Hazel Good- man is now teaching fourth grade at P.C.S. and that Phyllis Hall is one of the head nurses at the new Phelps Hospital. lt was interesting to note that Jim Vvestfall and Jim Sherbyn have their farms and are doing very well. Bill Rockefeller, Dave Soper and Richard Van Duyne were pictured as they attended a N.Y.S. dairy- manis convention in New York, New York. The former Dottie Bremer, whois now living in Paris, was mentioned on the society page. The item said that Dottie and her French husband' were visiting Alma Morse. who is married and lives in Rochester. Armeda Edington, according to an article, is accepting a high position as a physiotherapist in the Buffalo Chitdrenis Hospital. Harvey Smith and his wife Carole are visiting Bob Upchurch and his wife, Penny. in Louisiana. Marva Knapp, now a dental hygenist, is married to a SLU. grad- uate and is living in Dallas, Texas, with her husband and three sons. Qn the front page was a very interesting article about John Gleasonis breaking the speed of light in his home-made jet. Another classmate also made headlines. David Salisbury won tirst prize in a national art contest with his abstracts and mobiles. Paul Conley rated a front page article for winning the Grand Champion- ship in Stock Car Racing. I noticed a full page of advertising by Gordon Over- slaugh now the owner of a Pontiac agency in Phelps. Qvie Rauciallis advertise- ments for his appliance store in Phelps, were very eye-catching also. in my haste to read the paper I overlooked a letter from Kathy Schafer, saying she had sent me the paper She is living in Denver, Colorado, is married, and has two children. ln her spare time she gives piano lessons. Her letter mentioned many more of my old classmates. Barb. Overstaug and Barb Netlis both are married and each has a secretarial job as well. George Bonnell is very successful as treasurer ot a large concern in Rochester. Dorothy Nayaert, now married and the mother ot two children, is a private secretary at Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester.. it was interesting to read that Muriel Nash is in New .Vlexico as a missionary. Another item stated that Dave Tanner, who keeps very busy in Texas pumping his oil wells. was visiting in Phelps. Edna Bailey and Kate Perkins are members of the married set and both live in Geneva. i was surprised to hear that Duane Hartman man- ages the biggest ritte club in New York Statet Bill Vvinburn is now general man- ager of the PSC chain of stores. Dick Webb graduated from hlohawk Valley Technical institute at the head ot his class and is, at present. president ot the Pru- dential Lile insurance Company. Another successful member ot our class is Ron- nie Roberts who is an accountant in New York City. Dick Guard and Gerald Norsen are making military service their careers. Bruce Vvheeler is happily mar- ried and living in Oaks Corners. Bob Rector is now a noted lawyer in Chicago and is said to be able to out-talk any opponent. As I read about my classmates in the paper and in Kathyis letter, l felt glad that they all have been so successful since their graduation from P.C.b. and cer- tainly hope their success continues.
