Hulster The National Honor Society is a nation-wide organization for the puplis ii nigh school who have the four qualities of the society: Character, Scholarship, Leadership and Service. It is open only to the Junior and Senior classes a11d only Ia few are picked each year. The members chosen by a committee of four faculty members and three students already in the organization. No more than 20 per-Cent of the class -can be chosen for inemibership. , J As the name implies the Society is a national one and one which it is an honor to be elected. Continued from page 32 The 1947 team had an up and down season, wining 10 out of 18 games. Au outstanding feature of the season was the 31 - 20 defeat of Gorham, league C champs, also the 30 - 23 triuinph over Manchester. Captain Bob Lockeineyer lead the season's scoring with 140 points. Despite the loss ol' .laek lleBoover, Red Foxx and Paul Crouch, next seasons' quintette should come througi: with a successful season. Veterans who will return inelude Bob lockeineyer, Jack Bishop, and Jack Riley, also the entire Jay Vee sfyuad who enjoyed a very successful year wining 13 games. 34

Tiffany The Baud, under the direction of Mr. John Fraser has 58 members this year and is the largest band that Phelps Central School has ever had. Rehearsals are held every Monday and Wednesday duning activity period and classes are held during the day. The band went to Vigctor to put on an exchange concert on October 16, 1946. Shortsville band gave a rdturn assembly here December 16, 1946. A Shirley Peck, Barbara Sabin, Nancy Clark, Bill Scherbyn participated in the State Music Clinic held in November at East High School in Aubunn, New York.
