Out advisors for our first year were Mr. Weaver, Miss Maley and Miss Nichols. We started the year by electing Jack DeBoover. President, Velma Adams, Vice President, Beverly Hulster, Secretary, and Alberta Clarks, Treasurer. Our only activity con- sisted of a party held at Christmas time. A The following year found us back -again for another year. Twelve students had left us so at this point we had a class of thirty-two members. Mr. YVeaver once more advised us with the assistance of' Miss Brick who took the place of Miss Maley and ,Miss Nichols. For our officers, we elected Patricia Gifford, President, Gertrude Totman, Vice President, Velma Adams, Secretary, Jeanne Millen, Treasurer. Our first activity of the year was aa hayride to Newark. This proved to be successful al- though the majority were soaked by a rainstorm. Around Easter time we held our Sophmore Hop, which we called the Bunny Hop. This was our first money mak- ing venture, and thus our .class treasury had a start. Minus one more student, we started our third year of high school. Mr. Wea- ver and Miss Brick stood by us again as our advisors. We elected James Gleason, President, Patricia Gifford, Vice President, Gertrude Totman, Secretary, Jeanne Miller, Treasurer. This year we really star-ted our activities for a trip to New York during Easter Vacation our goal. Our first activity was the purchasing of our 'class rings, of which we were all very proud. Next wet held our Junior Carnival. Although tnis was a new event with all classes participating, it was successful. As a climax, vve held our Junior Prom on May 24th which we called The Musical Gardens. lt proved very successful and was enjoyed by everyone who attended. We wish at this time to extend our sympathy again to the family of Ray Johnson, our fellow classmate, who passed away during our Junior year. J We came back for our last year with a roll call of 34 students. Mr. Weaver is still with us, and Mr. Hartmann has taken the place of Miss Bri-ek on our advisor's staff. To start our year, we elected James Gleason, President, Beverly Hulster, Vice President, Gertrude Totman, Secretary, and Jeanne Miller, Treasurer. Our first financial event consisted of selling refreshments at several football games. In November we had a magazine dnive, which netted our treasury a large profit. In December we held our senior Ball, which we named the Snow Ball. The name fitted the night. as we had a heavy snowstorm, but it was still successful. Lew Thrasher, a globe-trotting magician, performed on the stage in Januarv and through this event our treasury grew somewhat larger. Also, in January, the Seniors put on a dinner at the Presbyterian Church for which we received some pay. - In February, Cole's Indoor Circus, sponsored by the Senior Class, performed in the school gymnasium. We also made money during the basketball season by selling refreshments at the games and holding dances afterwards. Our last and main event of the year was our Senior Play, which was held in Ntauch. It was very successful and rlaised our treasury to a point where we were able to go to New York. 1 During Easter vacation, we did take our trip to New York. It was an ad- venture that none of us will ever forget. Now, we have completed our four years of higher' training. We, as Senior. would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Mr. Weaver for assisting us so generously through our four years of high school and to oun other advisors, es- neeially Mr. Hartmann, who joined us in our Senior Year. 6 1-it ri. 1 P t t . 1 fe ty t .1 Lg 'S -' GLEA SON, JAMES FRANCIS President Class President 3-45 Mixed Chorus 1-25 Student Association 1-2-3-4, School paper 3-45 Associate Editor 45 Sophomore Hop Coinmittceg Junior Prom Com5mittee5 Senior Ball Coin- IIIIIICCQ Senior Play GOIIIIIIIUCCQ Junior Carnival5 Chairman Poster Connnittee5 Senior Carniv-al5 Junior Red Cross Mem- ber 1-2-3-45 Student Council 25 National Relations Club 35 New York Committee HULSTER, BEVERLY LOU Vice-President - Valedictorian Class Secretary 15 National Honor Society 3-45 Mixed Chorus 1-25 Student Association 1-2-3-4, Girls 4-H Club 15 Dance Club 25 Art Editor, School paper 35 Associate Editor, School paper 45 Editor-in-Chief Highlights 45 Secretarial Club 35 Stamp Sale Committee 35 Sophomore Hop Decoration Coni- mitteeg Junior Prom Decoreation Co1nmittee5 Senior Ball De- coration Committeeg Track Meet 1-25 Prize Speaking C.ontest 25 Gyn:Demonstr-ation 15 Junior Carnival Commitlee5 Senior Carnival Committeeg Student Usher 25 Junior Red Cross Member 1-2-3-45 Senior Play Cast 45 New York Committee TO'llMAN, GERTRUDE ELIZABETH Secretary Student Association 1-2-3-45 Band 1-2-3-45 Chorus 1-2-3-45 Vice President 25 Secretarmy 35 Sophomore Hop Ticket C.ommittee5 Decoration Chairman Junior Pro1n5 Refreshment Chairman Senior Ballg Dance Club 25 Student Council 15 Dram-atics 1-2, President 45 Prize Speaking Contest 35 Student Usher '25 G.
