With the world still in turmoil and the war far from finished, it is difficult t0 0-o into the future. .I-Iowever, I will endeavor to see a decade ahead and let my lmagmatlon PlaY 3 Part In this Pf0PhCCY, and sincerely hope that anyone of the 1945 class will be able to look back to our senior year as one of the most eventful and hap- piest of his life. WC, the Seniors, have plans made for the future and discussed all the different angles of various professions and trades. Well, years can change things. Paul Adams discovered that it takes years of hard work to build a truck and farming business. Would you have succeeded, Paul, without the able assistance of Bose Verdehem? 0 Jerry Goodman has just built a large G.L.F. plant in Iunius after years of planning. His wife, Muriel Bennett, advertising manager. Farmers from all over this area travel to trade there. By hard work in high school, George DeBoover and Bill Lyon have one of the most scientific farms of this county. flf you are doubtful, ask them.J It may be a coincidence, but the person in school who always had an answer for every question is now one of our important radio figures. He can be heard every Tuesday night at 9:30 on station l'I.I.O.U. It is none other than Phil Gifford with his famous NYour Questions Answered Here program. There were three senior girls who decided to be secretaries in big business. As information comes in about the alumni, I notice that Eleanor Canne is head secre- tary at Lawyer Richard McIntyre's Law Office in New York City. Do you think your business would have been prosperous without the tiring efforts of your teachers at school? Evelyn DeWind is taking care of all the bookkeeping and other details at the Phelps G.L.F., which is under the management of her husband, Glenn Morgan. As I glance through the newspapers, I notice that Betty Knauss is working as a stenographer at the American Can. Here is one girl who made good use of her high school education. Alfred Ruthven just took over his brother's trucking business, also the service station. There is one little thing people have objected to, he 'always arrives late for work. Habits are hard to break you know. I I just finished reading a college newspaper from the University of Rochester. As the students give comments on their favorite teachers, I see the name of Floyd Tot- man, American History, and Paul Crough, Mathematics teacher. I,m sure every one of the class of '45 is proud of these two prominent educators. Who knows, some day they may teach at Phelps Central. Bell Aircraft has just put out a new plane, designed by James Griffee. It is the best plane ever put out by this plant. It will be given a trial test by the famous test pilot of W.W. 2, Captain Ellsworth Updyke, who has tested more planes than coffee beans passed the equator. fGood luck, Elsiell The three girls who were always together in high school are still together after all these years. Dorothy Hicks, Jane Goldsworthy and Helen Converse are working at one of the biggest jobs in the United States. They are nurses in the Army. They always did like to travel and meet new people. As there is more need for blueprints of intricate machinery to further the ffrowth of our nation, Charles Cook has himself a life-time job. He is head drafts- idian at General Motors. Charlie is responsible for many of the new modern cars. The great basketball star of our '41114-945 team, Iohn Scherbylh is PlaYing with 19
