20 SPIRIT WEEK The Homecoming activities began with Spirit Week again this year. Each day, the students wore crazy costumes that revealed their true school spirit. The hi- larity began with “Nerd Day , when stu- dents dressed in unmatched clothes, highwater pants, and horn-rimmed glasses. Students doubled their already growing spirit on Twins Day . Cow- boys and Indians Day was observed on Wednesday and on Thursday, students kept their cool by wearing sunglasses and sweats on Sweats Day . The wild week was topped off with the traditional Purple and White Day . Top, These Seniors keep their cool'' by dressing up for Sweats Day . Middle, Amy Bottorf, Troy Friese, Julie Petsche, Christy Johnson, Neil Baumgartner, Jason O'Cilka, and Tanya Jennings get roped up into the spirit of Cowboys and Indians Day . Bottom, Juniors Jennifer O'Cilka and Brenda Spieker, Senior Brenda Staashelm and Sophomore Gina Koch double their spirit by dressing up for Twin Day .

22 HOMECOMING On Saturday evening, September 21, 1985, the Pep Club sponsored the annual Homecoming Dance. This year's theme was You're All I Need , taken from the song Heaven by Bryan Adams. The gym was decorated in blue, pink, and lavender. Last year's King and Queen, Tom Temme and Jeanine Ketteler, crowned Paul Koch and Brenda Staashelm as the 1985 Royalty. Their court consisted of Juniors Jeff Staashelm (stand- ing in for Todd Jennings) and Kim Petsche; Sophomores Lee Ketteler and Rene Petsche; and Freshmen Scott Thieman and Rose Starman. Top left. The 1985 Senior candidates received chocolate kisses from the Cheerleaders during half-time of the Homecoming football game. Top right. Last year's King Tom Temme and Queen Jeanine Ketteler dance their last dance to Hard Habit to Break , Middle, This year's Senior candidates were Paul Koch, Dan Knust, Lance Benda, Diane Spieker, Brenda Staashelm, and Kim Thieman. At right. The new Queen Brenda Staashelm and King Paul Koch enjoy their reign.
