FALL ONE—ACT PLAYS: Below left, awakened from their sleep by the violent summer storm, Gerald Snoopy, Jo and Claire decide to search for clues to the Wailing Ghost of Willowmere. Center middle, in a last-ditch effort to close the tea room, the ghost arrives ill person to scare the teen-aged guests. Center right, perfect lady Claire, on far right, introduces Tom-boy Jo, amateur detective Snoopy and bug-ologist Horace to each other. Bottom right, Jessie, the Willowmere cook, greets Lottie and Linda as they arrive at their aunt's tea room to work. 24 The Marriage ' a one-act play by Dorothy J. Proctor, concerned an argument between a husband and wife, the emotions they experienced, and learning to confront their differences. It was performed for the Conference and District Contests at Elgin, for the PHS student body and for the Senior Citizens in Petersburg. The Haunted Tea Room, by Anne Coulter Martens, is a three-act mystery-comedy written for and about teen-agers. Nine high school students met at the Willowmere Tea Room on a stormy summer evening. High jinks and mayhem ensued as they searched for and discovered the identity of the mysterious ghost who was disrupting business at the tea room. At right, the Grade School chorus performs the line five golden rings from The Twelve Days of Christmas. Below, Ryan Dietz, Holly Henn, Bryce Nabor and Shiela Arends perform Hanging Up the Stockings. Center right, the Kindergarten seem to enjoy singing in the Christmas Program. Below center right, the Junior High and Freshmen Chorus wait their turn to sing, as Julie Petsche recites the poem Christmas Bells. CHRISTMAS: The Star Of Bethlehem The Christmas Program was presented on 12 December. The Concert Band opened the show performing four Yuletide selections. The Elementary School students then sang and performed for the audience. Poem readings were given by Julie Petsche, Jason Benda and Kim Bottorf. A skit, Hanging Up the Stockings, was presented by the Third Grade, and many of the elementary students were cast in two plays, Santa Meets an Emergency and The Shepherd Who Slept. The Kindergarten sang Up on the House Top. In addition, the entire Grade School sang a medley of Christmas songs; Julie Petsche and Tod Thieman were featured as a duet in one selection. The show stopper was a pictorial rendition of The Twelve Days of Christmas. A combined chorus of the Junior High and Freshmen sang traditional English and French carols. The program ended with the audience joining in the singing of several favorite Christmas hymns. Above left. Bob Beckman performs in a short play, 'The Shepherd Who Slept.
