Teachers AY the Golden Gate St. Peter Stood guard at the Golden Gate A With a solemn mien and an air sedate When up to the top of the golden stair The teachers of P. H. S. were ascending there. Applied for admission, they came and stood Before St. Peter so great and good. ln hope the city of peace to win, And asked St, Peter to let them in. Mr. Eminger our Principal was there, With his happy smile and nut-brown hair Never a falter or a shake of the Knee His hopes were high it was plain to see. With his firm and steadfast voice he spoke, HThe rubber hose in Peshastin, it Knows no stroke l've directed the pupils with the greatest care And respected everyetudent enrolled there.n The angel choir in the distance the echoes awoke While Mr. Eminger thoughtfully spoke, HChl St. Peter, trials came V But we kept up Girl's Chorus just the same, Often the algebra students beharior did not suit But it is rather boresome extracting square root. UAlso St. Peter my way is clear you see, Because in l9C6 I graduated with a degree of A. B. At Oberlin College I dtruggled and sweat, Those days are clearly revealed to me yet, And now St. Peter, I leave the rest to you, And through the gates to heaven I'll surely journey through Side by side on the stair they stood, The teachers of P. H. S.,so good, Then St. Peter, waved his stick, The next is Paul J. McCormick. UGood St. Peter, l come before thee, Asking thee to have pity on me, For years I taught at P. H. S., And always to Mr. Eminger said, VYesH. l've been a science teacher faithful and true, And l'm sure they can answer any questions asked by you. lfve been the coach for P. H. S. Ue've lost games, Chl yes, But we've flung high the banner, the maroon and white? And I always taught them to play the game right.H HAS a part of my past history you may desire to hear, l graduated from Idaho College In the Zeta year.
