King, M. Daly, G. Spranger, I. Gilgrist. Although the goll team comprised several newcomers, the boys turned in a record oi eight Wins and three losses. They won the CIC, placed third in the Sectional and seventh in the State Finals. With several returning let- termen, Coach Charles Craycrait expected less trouble re-building for l963. X. Because of the distance' and expense in- volved in traveling to meets, wrestling, which has always been a winter sport at pl-iS, was dropped this year. instead, a iveight-lifting program was instituted so that more boys would have the opportunity to keep in shape all vear long. Held three days a week throughout the winter at the lunior High School, the program involved chiefly underclassinen who wanted to keep in shape for football, Mr. Robert Larson, who directed the program, supervised the boys in various beneficial exercises. He was assisted by three seniors, Sain Phillipy, Keith Bird and Frank Anderson. .N

The seasons all-around track man was Hal Sonafrank, who broke many of his own records and several Central Indiana Con- ference marks.
