The members of these two organizations have given untiringly of their time and efforts in helping our school. 2 ADMINISTRATION PERRYVILLE HIGH SCHOOL Our modern high school plant was construct- ed in 1960. It consists of 29 classroom units joined by covered ramps. Included in these units are chemistry and biology laboratories, homemaking department, library, ana industrial arts department, as well as ad- ministration building and cafetorium. Our plant is well situated on a forty acre plot which includes football gridiron and little league field. UPPER: Homemaking department and library. LOWER: Campus and front of buildings. RIGHT: Close-up of classroom unit with cafetorium in background. The School Board As we think of all the persons in our community who contribute to our education, we become in- creasingly aware of the men who give of time and talent and know-how to keep in operation this great public school system. Serving without financial remuneration of any kind, these five business and professional men, with the Superintendent, yearly provide a greatly enlarged and inriched curriculm to meet the needs and abilities of all students, and select a well- qualified faculty. LEFT TO RIGHT: C.A. Ezell, J.A. Shelton, Benard Growns, William McCabe, and Floyd Gardner. Captain Harper greets Governor Faubus. Through the combined efforts of Arkansas National Guard Unit, Company D, 217th Engineer Battalion and the Perryville School Board, this modern structure was made possible. It was dedicated May 1962 with Governor Orval B. Faubus making the dedicatory address. Although to the general public it may be referred to as ’’the armory” to the students and personnel of PHS it is our Gym.” NOEL ADAMS B.S.E., A.S., Arkansas Polytechnic College Science JOHN HOFFMAN B.S. During this school year the Student Council sponsored the first football homecoming, had charge of assemblies, bought a trophy case for the school, presented the Christmas program, chartered the clubs on the campus, erected a school sign, and sent the cheerleaders to workshop. Through the cooperation of their sponsor, Mr. Earl Melton, they attended the district convention for the first time. For the seniors the years pass all too quickly. Our classmates, our friends, our teachers have all played a part in this our senior year. We, the annual staff have attempted to preserve the memories through word and picture. You, the students of PHS, made it; you lived it. we presented it. As editor, I would like to thank all who helped to make this year's publication possible. It took a lot of work and planning on the part of the staff. It also took the co-operation of the faculty and the student body. Your efforts are appreciated. Barbara Brown Barbara Brown, Editor SEATED: Left To Right; Brown. Van Dalsem, Watts, Allison.
