The maids selected from each class dressed as brilliant colored gems. The queen, chosen by the senior boys' basket- ball team, was the brightest jewel of all - a ruby. The Library Club The Perryville Library Club is a member of the Arkansas Student Librarians' Association, and the members attend the state convention each year. Their services are very valuable to this school. The Office Staff The principal's office could not be operated successfully without the assistance of our efficient secretarial helpers. The Chapel Club Chapel Club is for the purpose of promoting a spiritual atmosphere on the Campus of Perryville High School. The P.H.S. Tattler Staff The P.H.S. National Honor Society The object of the National Honor Society is to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, and to encourage the development of character in students of Perryville High School. In carrying out these objectives, the student council has sponsored many activities - the annual homecoming, this year's theme being Treasure Chest ; presented the Christmas program and promoted the gift drive for needy children; presented a fifty-star flag to the school; had charge of assemblies and prepared the devotionals for these programs; and served as a clearinghouse for all student organizations. The council was led in its activities by the President, Sharon Park; Vice-President, Carol Van Dalsem; and Secretary, Katy Suffridge. Mr. Melton and Mr. Webb served as sponsors.
