SMITH Captain CLARENCE HIGGINS Coach JIMMIE BELL Mascot Coach Clarence Higgins came to us from Monette in the fall of 1937 to begin a most successful career as coach of athletics in the local school. During Coach Higgins’ leadership of the school’s sports Perry ville has won more honors in athletics than it has in many years. In addition a full-spirited attitude of clean sportsmanship, loyalty and enthusiasm has been developed in the students taking part. Senior boys and girls who lettered in basketball were award- ed sweaters; new suits have been purchased for all basketball teams and complete track and baseball equipment have been in- stalled in the school- BASKETBALL Perryville school has developed during the past few years as one of the leading schools in the county in all divisions of basketball as well as track and baseball. During the past two years the athletic teams have brought many honors to the school in their department winning a total of four trophies in tournaments and various athletic meets. The school is also proud of the fact that this development has come without the resulting sacrafice of other school activities which is so common among leading athletic teams. Scholarship has been maintained and other requirements have been kept up so that the participants will get the best out of it. Among the four basketball teams, the senior boys were eas- ily the most outstanding. Playing a schedule of 28 teams includ- ing out-of-county teams as well as all county teams, they have won 19 of the games and made a total score of 997 points to their opponents’ total 719. The result of games were as follows: PERRYVILLE 31 — — — — — — PERRY 20 PERRYVILLE 30 — — — — — — JOE T. 27 PERRYVILLE 50 — — — — — HOUSTON 27 PERRYVILLE 40 — — — — — — PERRY 20 PERRYVILLE 11 — — — — — BIGELOW 22 PERRYVILLE 30 — — — — — BIGELOW 3K PERRYVILLE 40 — — — — — HOUSTON 22 PERRYVILLE 54 — — — — — — — A.PLIN 5 PERRYVILLE 43 — — — — — — AIMIN'A. 42 PERRYVILLE 33 — — — — — — PERRY 13 PERRYVILLE 21 — — — — — — ADONA 31 PERRYVILLE 29 — — — — JESSIEVILLE 7 PERRYVILLE 42 — — — — — JUDSONIA ??
