Treece As Principal of Perrysburg High School, Mr. Treece has long lent his guiding hand to the students and we are indebted to him for his patient efforts in making our high school years a success. Mr. Treece earned his B.S. in Edu- cation at Bowling Green State Univer- sity and he received his M.A. at Columbia University. He takes time out from his busy duties as Principal to teach a class in Algebra. 1 Mr. I. S. Rinehart Our superintendent, Mr. Rinehart, came to Perrysburg in l947 and in that time he has won the respect and admiration of the entire student body. The senior class, especially, is deep- ly grateful for all he has done to bet- ter our education facilities and make our years at P.H.S. as wonderful as they have been. Mr. Rinehart earned his B.S. in Education and his M.A. in Sociology and School Administration at Bowling Green State University. He has done work toward his Ph.D. at the Univer- sity of Wisconsin and at Ohio State University. - BOARD OF EDUCATION Perrysburg High School has been very fortunate in having such an outstanding group of men to guide our school business. With their en- thusiasm and help, the Bond Issue passed and plans are being made for betterment ot our educational system. Members of the school board are: Norman A. The success of the class has greatly depended upon the guidance of the faculty, senior advisors, Miss Mun- ger and Mr. Wirick, and the co- operation at all its members, As seniors, the class undertook many activities, the Christmas con- vocation, the Christmas dance, A Trip to Toyland , two roasts, a round and square dance, and the Senior Prom. All in all this final year has proved to be very successful and a grand climax to four memorable years. BAND This year Mr. Peters succeeded in arous- ing more interest in band music than ever before. The Commodores, along with the color- ful activities of the drum major and major- ettes, played for the football games and in the Memorial Day parade, During the concert season the band gave several public concerts, and played host to the Great Northern Festival. COMMERCIAL CLUB This club, organized in l947, has proven to be one of the outstanding clubs in school. Under the leadership of Alice Pothast, President, Barb Ault, Vice-President, Shir- ley Brahier, Secretary, and Barb Artz, Treasurer, many well planned activities were carried out. A picnic-initiation was held at Fort Meigs in September. In Octo- ber a roast was held and several field trips completed their activities. G. A. A. The G.A.A. started the year with a roast at Ft. Meigs in September. During the year basketball, volleyball, softball games were played at noon and after school. The club has had a very successful year with the help of its officers': Betty Stein- line, President, Midge Brossia, Vice-Presi- dent, Rosie Rectenwald, Secretary, lca Mae Huebner, Treasurer, and Mary Muir, Re- porter. GIRL'S ENSEMBLE The girls in ensemble have participated in the different programs that the Music Department has put on this year. This is made up of girls, who were interested in music other than that of Chorus. O. C. TREECE CHAPTER F. T. A. The F,T.A. club, named in honor of our principal Mr. Treece, was organized in the spring of l949 with Miss Munger and Miss Morgan as advisors. HALL MONITORS CLUB This club was formed in 1949 with the purpose in mind to keep order in the halls. Members are chosen for one year, by advisors and are representative of all three classes. The faculty advisors are Mrs. Braun and Mr. Treece. I LITERARY CLUB The Literary Club, formerly known as the Library Club, opened its membership to include not only those who assist in the library, but to those who enjoy books as well. Several parties and a convocation, along with several projects, helped to make their study of Spanish more interesting. DRUM MAJOR-MAJORETTES This year we bid goodbye to four major- ettes, Carol Braatz, lca Mae Huebner, Jan Landrum and Buddy Muir, but a familiar face for another year will be Frank Frazier, drum major. MATH-SCIENCE CLUB The Math-Science Club was organized in October of l945, by Mr, Straw who is now the advisor. The purpose of the club is to further scientific and mathematical knowledge. lt was decided that members shall have at least five credits in math or science, and shall be interested in these fields of study. The club is also affiliated with The Science Clubs of America. The Math-Science leaders for this year have been: Ed Kime, President, George Campbell, Vice-President, Kate Haas, Sec.- Treas., Carl Sarver, Program Chairman, and Mr, Straw, Faculty advisor. PROJECTION CLUB The Projection Club was organized in i949 and is now under the direction of Mr. Worstell. The purpose of this organ- ization is to create and maintain interest in audio-visual education throughout- the school. SENIOR CHOIR The Senior Choir, under the direction and supervision of Miss Bendure, has been very active this year, They sang at many convocations, P.T.A. programs, and partici- pated in the Choir Festival and The Oper- etta in the spring. STUDENT COUNCIL Here at Perrysburg is a miniature dem- ocracy. The Student Council is the central governing body, advised by Mrs. Braun and the administration. Each club and class, this year including the Jr. High, has a representative. These representatives meet once each month to discuss problems. The Council organizes the school calendar to avoid confusion and to aid the administration. Ronnie Martin - Left Half - Senior Small but mighty, Ronnie liked the game and could always be counted on to go into any competition and do his best, Jim Kopp - Quarterback - Junior Jimmy did a fine job this year as one of the most outstanding quarterbacks Perrysburg has seen in a long time. He made all-conference team. We'll all look forward to Jim's fine playing next year. 58 Ed Southward - Fullback -- Senior Ed, co-captain, was considered the driving dog of the team. Ed's earnest- ness and willingness made him one of Perrysburg's finest players. Gene Williams - Center - Senior Gene was a great defense man and for his outstanding playing won the Merril award, Most Honorable Player, and also GNC. second all-conference team. He was also co-captain of the team. Ron Morgan - Guard - Senior Ron was one of the finest, he just never knew when to quit. He was a great line man and will be hard to replace. Don Morgan - End - Senior Although small for an end, he provid- ed the fight and determination that makes a great athlete. Jerry Sutter Jerry was a great asset to the team last year and we are looking to more tine floor play next year. Carl Thornton Carl's great basketball ability is de- veloping him into a good man for our team tor next year. Larry Tremsky - Forward Larry was one at the most consistant scorers on the team. l-lis speed and sportsmanship make him hard to beat. Kenny Artz - Guard Kenny's tire and chatter will be missed next year, along with those beautiful long shots. Bernard Eckel - Center Bernie is the only boy on our team over six toot. His height and ability will make many a point for P. l-I. S. next year. George Smith - Forward George was a great asset to the team last year, and we look forward to more fine floor play next year.
