HFSLUI Reporter Ft'i.1.i1:R, Viet'-Prr.ridvul lJia1ML1Nc:, President Pifsr.-xv, Scrrt-tary VVACONI-R Treavurer CLASS OF IQ!-io Representing some of the best students ever to attend Perrysburg High School, the 1940 class graduates with the satisfaction of giving the school its best in every field. In athletics there were lrv Johnson, Jim Cryan, and Lloyd Finch, football standouts, while Bill Christman was a stellar performer in both foot- ball and basketball. Outstanding intramural contestants and leaders were Kenny Lusher, Tally Schwind, Rah Marriott, and Elmer Lintncr. ln extra-curricular activities many have left be- hind them excellent records in their respective endeavors. Among these active leaders and their achievements were: Lee Fuller, president of the Hi-Y, an excellent member of the band, as well as an outstanding scholastic representa- tive of the school, Grace Mills, president of the G. R.'s and president of the National Honor So- ciety, Ed vvamimid, president of the Boosters' Club, as well as a star on the varsity eleven, and Lucile Bostdorf, president of the G. A. A. and a member of the National Honor Society. journalism was well represented by Gene Deim- ling and Bob Dibling. Uemling edited the Somethin' and the 1940 Blarl? and Gold, while Dibling supervised and directed the photographic end of the annual. ln art, Mearl Schuele and Helen Pustay were representative of the two classes meeting daily with Miss Berg. Pat Tobey and Dorothy Schaller were the Thespians playing important leads in the produc- tion What a Life, presented by the Farmers' ln- stitute during the month of February. Members of the band and the orchestra who aided their organizations by taking individual honors with their respective instruments, as well as with their constant interest in the welfare of their organizations, were Dale Huffman, drums, Berneda Sprague, liuteg and Lee Fuller, clarinet. All of the available space in the building was used for the production of the annual Senior Carnival, held in April. The head of the versa- tile committee producing the riotous affair was ,lack Heilman. A cafeteria for the Farmers' Institute, a moving picture for the entire student body, the Christ- mas dance, and, with the aid of their mothers, the P. T. A. banquet, all went toward making possible the trip taken by the seniors in the spring. The Final activity sponsored by the class of '40 was the play Young April, under the direction of Mr. Barber.
