Your royal fame, your spirit game Has won our heart and hand. l'erryslwurg High, again we sing fheers for the Black and Gold. Hip hurrah, win the fray! Our banners high we'll hold. Help along, sing a song. Laud your school where 'er you go! Shout her name, win her fame, Vanquish every lighting foe! Team of might, our delight, ever light, Fight, fight, iight, fight, light, fight! Un with the battle for the Black and Gold. lfight with a spirit that is brave and hold. For her we are cheering, Of her fame we're hearing, XYe will prove our loyalty to you, P. H. S. VVe know those colors stand for all that's true Bravery, fidelity, and courage too. Hail, then, dear old Perrysliurg High, XYC pledge our hearts to you! I 9 3 3 ' ffilin' Ag, ii , llilw BLACK GOLD il l Foreword Dear native regions, I foretell, From what I feel at this farewell, That, wheresoe'er my steps may tend, And whensoe'er my course shall end, If in that hour a single tie Survive of local sympathy, My soul will cast the backward view, The longing look alone on you. Thus, while the Sun sinks down to rest Far in the regions of the west, Though to the vale no parting beam Be given, not one memorial gleam, A lingering light he fondly throws On the dear hills where first he rose. -William W ordsworllz 1933 Six 2 BLACK G 0 L D ,,.., Contents GXIXEJ ADMINISTRATION CLASSES ORGANIZATIONS ATHLETICS ALUMNI PERRYSBURG I 9 3 3 Seven BLACK GO LD :rer- Z2 Z3 Fort M eigs Memorial ur.-K . , , X f Simzijgnwymg M ,zz-9 Q Historic Maumee River I 9 3 3 Eight ii AEEL EEE? gi BLACK GOLD N E., an f N ,,, To those who guide the destiny of Perryslmurg Hlglm Sclwwl, We respectfully alenllcate tl11s sectlcm I 9 3 3 Nim' . To a certain group of ninety pairs of ears, the bell heralded a new message. Freshmen ! ! It seemed that for years the foremost ambition of those ninety boys and girls, who appeared to begin their high school career, had been this longed-for moment. With the jeers of the upper-classmen and getting accustomed to class schedules, a kind of awkwardness prevailed over that group of happy youngsters for the first few weeks. However, with the aid of Mr. Canfield, the class organized and elected the following oflicers: President, , S , ,,,u . - , . -Wilda Walker Vice-President. . , . . . . -Harold Goeke Secretary-Treasurer. u..,, Carl Eckel Reporteruc ,. .,,e,, .- ,.. .,.,.,Jay Twining Although we were quite insignificant socially, we gained scholastic recognition through the names of various students on the Honor Roll and in the State Scholar- ship Tests. Thus it was that the Class of 1933 sent out its little ship on her maiden voyage of the great voyage--High School. . CHAPTER TWO As the little ship sets sail the second time, we find that the number of our ship- mates has dwindled to eighty. With our faithful pilot, Mr. Canfield, we chose these oflicers to steer us on our course. New social responsibilities were given us besides that of maintaining our high scholastic standards. We felt more seriously the fact that we stood on the threshold of our senior year. CHAPTER FOUR A September morning, the school bell rings out on the clear, sunlit air. A thrill is felt by the seventy-three seniors who set out in a more serious mood to resume their work at P. H. S. VVith banners flying high, the faithful ship launches forth on her last voyage, carrying us to our dreamed-of-destination-Graduation. Viola Bostdorf The year has passed. How-we cannot divine. It has been with an incredible celerity that nine months of school have Hitted by. Truly, this year has been the most enjoyable of all our experiences in school. VVe stand in caps and gowns at the height of our ambition. Our dream is ended. Graduation is a reality. Our voyage is done. The little ship docks at the harbor of its final destination. Our day is drawing to a close, night is drawing nighg the sun hangs low in the West. BILL NYE'S COW AD Bill Nye, the humorist, once had a cow to sell, and advertised her as follows: Owing to my ill health, I will sell at my residence, in township 19, ran e 18, according to the Government survey, one plush ras berry cow, aged eight years. She is of undoubted courage, and gives milk requently. To a man who does not fear death in any form, she would be a great boon. She is very much attached to her present home with a sta chain, but will be sold to any one who will treat her right. She is one-fourth short-horn and three-fourths hyena. I will also throw in a double-barrel shotgun, which goes with her. In Ma she usually oes away for a week or two and returns with a tall, red calfywith wabbly legs. Her name is Rose. I would prefer to sell her to a non-resident. 1933 One hundred :gif S I , W . ,sq . -+1 'E' , .... ,, 4 ,EIL-..,..1v ., ' .f vb I v : '41 , 4 1, ,' fl M, 92 ' '-F I W 5.-' - ,-4'-,: ' ' J-f:. , 1, c' Ml:'j4:', f '.wg?.2ggfi.: -if v -1? . , Lgj' - 1' H' f - .v,. 9-my G fr gm, , A- T254 ,J 'za' fzgggf. 5:- ' 14, - :3i?7'l' I' If. 1' 'X A Q .. 22 - 'FF -3 9 T5',..f'f?f 3' 'IJ Biff!
