“row, Glen Hiebenthal, Dean Krieger, Ralph Chapin, Norman Frink, Donald DeJong, Wayne Phillips, Ga y Smith, middle row, Sara Kay Rosenbalm, Eleanor Nazarenus, Florence Ediger, Nancy'Danenhauen Marjorie McIntosh, Mary Margaret Hanna, Anna Marie Nazarenus, Darlene Stapleton, front row, Mary'Barth, Melba Zunck, Delores Gilson, and Fannie Gingerich. -69414 4 The seventh and eighth grade I4-I-I Health club met every week. Each week 3 people would make reports. Some of the reports were on teeth, tobacco, narcotics and safety. They also made h-H Health post- ers which were taken to the Polk County fair. In Social studies we made murals and friezes. The seventh grade made a frieze that was on Austria, Africa, British Isles, India, and New Zealand. The eighth grade made a mural on Southern plantation life. They also made outlines and then reports that were read in fnmt of the class. Each week we picked three persons from the seventh or eighth who would put up the bulletin board. Some of the subjects were Columbus , Japan, and papers on the Constitution. we had fingerpainting this year which improved very much each than Many of the figures were very pretty. Mrs. Domes and Mrs. Watson taught us some new ideas on fingerpainting. For the eighth grade trip we went to Silver Creek Falls. A hike around the falls and a picnic lunch was enjoyed. The annual lg-H achievment day was held at Perrydale. Salt Cree k was-invited. Each club reported on their activities for the year. It was tape recorded for a radio program over XDAC. In volleyball and basketball we played Falls City, Ballston, and Dallas. In a tournament which was held at Falls City, Perrydale placed second in volleyball and fourth in basketball. Dean Krieger and Ralph Chapin placed on the Polk County all-star basketball team.
