M s. and Mrs. R. A. Rosenbalm are Chapter Parents. The five freshmen girls initiated into FHA at the beginning of the school year were: Marilyn Lute, Darlene Johnson, Delores Stap- leton, Ruby Rempel, and Shirley Neufeld. Initiation was held at a PTA meeting following installation of officers for the 1953-Sh yemm The ceremonies were formal. Girls in FHA attended the ninth annual North Willamette District meeting at Mollala. Emily Freeman who was elected district chairmanat Perrydale last year presided. Sharon Rosenbalm spoke on her trip to Chicago as state FHA president. Officers of the Perrydale chapter went to St. Paul and installed the officers in their new chapter which was organized this year. February 15, was the date of the event of the FHA field trip to Portland. Members visited many stores and compared prices, types , and qualities of merchandise. During that day they went on a tour through the Wonder Bread Bakery. Later in the evening they attended the Style Revue at Meier and Frank's. Delegates going with Sharon Hosenbalm to the convention at Cor- vallis were Marietta Etzel and Janice Dodson. Darlene Massey modeled a garment in the style revue. The FHA workday was held in the spring. Each girl brought in 33.60 for the treasury. The club also enjoyed their annual Uhetreat to the Beach' in May.
