' -gzapwggum, 796 As a class we began as a small group of bewildered Chathamites who entered Perry Junior High School as 7 B's. In the ninth grade many new students were added to our class. They came from Nativity, McNaugher, and the country schools. When we young Perryites reached Grade 9B, a great new door of social life opened to us-Milroy House and Bogi dances among others. There was a great deal of hard work mingled with lots of fun for us starry eyed freshmen. At last we had worked our way to the tenth grade. We were now part of the Senior School, and our Home Room representatives were sent to Senior Council. Because of the size of our class we had five rooms. Some of our boys were try- ing out for the teams and making them, while our girls were trying out for the maiorettes and cheerleading. We all had a sample of Dr. Irons' famed biology tests. Since this was the last year forthe country hicks , we had a sophomore pic- nic and gave them a real send off. ln the eleventh grade we were really in the swing of things! We were participating in more ofthe activities. Quite a few of our athletes had made the teams, and quite a few of our girls had become maiorettes and cheerleaders. Because Page Fourteen Ufflfffjld, 1. Wisner R. Miller D. McClelland M. Ritter of the absence of our country classmates, one of our home rooms was split up and four home rooms were established. We were all very proud ofthe Junior Home Room that won the Good Will Campaign. We were having trouble understand- ing valence in chemistry class, but we managed to survive through our Junior Year. At the end of the year we got together with our former classmates and had another picnic. As a Senior class, our group was divided into three homerooms. Dr. Irons, Miss Roberts, and Miss Traubert were our new homeroom teachers. Our class was active in many activities throughout the school. We were active in vari- ous clubs, student government, and the school publications. Besides the various activities already mentioned, one of our homerooms was the second in the school to have one hundred per- cent purchase of activity tickets, and two of our homerooms had one hundred per cent in contri- butions to the Community Chest Drive. We have enioyed our years at Perry and have learned much. We shall not soon forget that knowledge. As a class and as individuals we shall truly make every effort to use our knowledge for service.
